Where to Stay
Your decision regarding where to stay will ultimately depend on the duration of your trip and sightseeing plans. Remember, this will be 4th of July weekend, so you may want to plan around things like the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Show, which occurs in the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn/Queens.
We do not have a room block at a specific hotel, but you can access 15% off of your stay at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn or the Ace Hotel New York by using code "celebrate" at checkout. Below are some additional options to explore for out-of-towners, including a few of our favorites from our days as tourists...
OUR HOTEL PICKS
The Marlton
Greenwich Village, Manhattan ($$$)
One of our favorite hotels from our time as NYC tourists, The Marlton is as cozy and homey as it is elegant and sophisticated. We loved its quaint, comfortable lobby (and its cocktail bar and espresso bar), the attention to detail of its rooms and decor, and, of course, its proximity to amazing restaurants in nightlife within a five-minute walk.
Ace Hotel Brooklyn
Boerum Hill, Brooklyn ($$$)
The Ace Hotel Brooklyn is located on the border of Boerum Hill and Downtown Brooklyn, near multiple picturesque brownstone neighborhoods, legendary restaurants and bars, and quintessential Brooklyn cultural landmarks. In the hotel, floor-to-ceiling windows are combined with industrial chic decor, and the on-site restaurant, bakery and bar offer local favorites at all hours of the day or night. Ace Hotel NYC
NoMad, Manhattan ($$$)
In the heart of the city – just north of Madison Square Park and a short walk from Times Square, the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station and other must-see NYC landmarks – the Ace Hotel NYC brings the flavor of modern Manhattan. The rooms emphasize style, inspired by the triangular architecture of this property that dominates an entire street corner. Use code "celebrate" for 15% off your stay!
1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
DUMBO, Brooklyn ($$$$)
Designed by local artists, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is a breathtaking property. In this airy and art-filled stay, you’ll find a cosy guests-only lounge, a cellar-level cinema room and an all-natural Bamford Spa. There’s also a casual, all-day cafe full of locally-sourced treats and a plunge pool on the tenth floor that looks out over the East River. The views of the Manhattan skyline from 1 Hotel are simply unmatched.

In addition to three on-site restaurants, it features a terrace, a courtyard, and a rooftop bar with views across Brooklyn and Manhattan. Arlo NoMad
NoMad, Manhattan ($$)
The Arlo NoMad is a thoroughly New York micro-hotel with a buzzing social vibe, and is one of Midtown Manhattan's most stylish, accessible, and budget-friendly upscale options. Though rooms are compact, they are well-appointed and feature high-end amenities and city skyline views, and the hotel offers several great food and beverage options. It also has a rooftop bar on the 31st floor with a "sky walk" glass floor installation!
The High Line Hotel
Williamsburg, Brooklyn ($$$)
Formerly the home of the General Theological Seminary, The High Line Hotel has been transformed with elegant decor, priceless art, a Parisian-style garden, and a lovely courtyard. It also offers complimentary use of the hotel's Shinola bicycles, an on-site espresso bar, and a double-decker bus turned into a cocktail bar in the open-air garden.
Virgin Hotel NYC
NoMad, Manhattan ($$$)
A newer addition to the NYC hotel scene (opened in 2023), the Virgin Hotel is a technology- and comfort-forward escape in the heart of the city. Its restaurant/bar offers live music and great views of the city skyline, and there's also a rooftop pool and cocktail bar. SoHo, Manhattan ($$$)
Set against the backdrop of SoHo's iconic cast-iron buildings and cobblestone streets, ModernHaus SoHo is a thoughtfully designed extension of the neighborhood's creative and dynamic spirit. NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE
If none of the options above inspired you, here's a quick neighborhood guide with our opinions on staying in certain areas of the city. Due to proximity to our celebration venue and/or lack of interesting experiences for tourists, we wouldn't recommend staying in any neighborhoods not listed.
BROOKLYN
BoCoCa & Brooklyn Heights
"BoCoCa" is the combination of the Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill & Carroll Gardens (where we live!) neighborhoods, which also border picturesque Brooklyn Heights. In our biased opinion it's the best area in all of NYC, but there are limited hotel options.
